Before starting training with Darryl, I was overweight, suffering a few niggling injuries, and in need of a reset. I felt frustrated and was lacking motivation. Being an avid cyclist, this was impacting my ability to perform on a bike and I didn’t feel confident about participating in some of the tough endurance events I had planned.
Despite working with a PT before and having a cycling coach, I didn’t really know what to do in the gym or how to develop a nutrition plan to support my goals. This is the first time cycling and weight training has been linked up together alongside very specific nutritional advice and its made a big difference.
Darryl is extremely knowledgeable about physiology and nutrition. He pushed me at the right pace and helped hold me accountable to my goals and our agreed action plan. Darryl considered the programming I already have from my cycling coach and devised a strength and nutrition plan around that, and adjusted the plan as and when needed.
Since working with Darryl, I’ve dropped over 10kg without losing any power on the bike which has significantly improved my power : weight ratio (every cyclists dream!) I now understand how to fuel my performance much more efficiently and am continuing to work with Darryl to be even leaner and more powerful for the 2024 cycling season!
